Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the HiChord cloud platform — the Studio editor, community Browse, AI sound generation, and your account. By using the platform you agree to them.
Last updated: 27 June 2026.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and let us know of any unauthorized use. You must meet the minimum age in your country to create an account.
Your content
You keep ownership of the sounds and samples you create. By publishingcontent to the community, you grant other users a license to view, download, and use it within HiChord, and you grant us a license to host, display, and distribute it for the purpose of running the platform. You can unpublish or delete your content at any time; copies others already downloaded are outside our control.
You represent that you have the rights to any audio you upload — including recordings, samples, and prompts — and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights. Every time you publish to the community you confirm this again by ticking the rights box; we keep a record of who published what and when.
Takedowns. If you believe content on HiChord infringes your copyright, use the Report link on the sound or email hello@hichord.shop with the sound’s link, the work you own, and your contact details. We remove reported content promptly while we look into it, we pass the notice on to the person who published it and keep it on file as Canadian law requires, and accounts that repeatedly publish infringing content are closed. We are not responsible for content our users publish, but we act on notices.
Acceptable use
- Don’t upload content that is illegal, infringing, hateful, or harmful.
- Don’t abuse, overload, scrape, or attempt to break the service or its security.
- Don’t misuse AI generation to produce infringing or prohibited audio, and don’t try to circumvent rate limits or extract our API credentials.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms.
AI sound generation
AI generation is provided as a convenience and is powered by a third party (ElevenLabs). Output is provided “as is,” may vary in quality, and may be rate-limited or unavailable. You are responsible for how you use generated audio.
The device and firmware
The platform connects to HiChord hardware through your browser. Firmware updates are flashed at your own initiative; back up anything important first. We are not responsible for issues caused by modified firmware or unsupported hardware.
Service availability
The platform is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, HiChord is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or content, arising from your use of the platform.
Changes
We may update these terms; we will revise the date above and, for material changes, give notice in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
